The development of new approach methodologies (NAMs) to replace current in vivo testing for the safety assessment of engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) is hindered by the scarcity of validated experimental data for many ENMs. MACRAMÉ partners contributed to the publication ‘Wisdom of Crowds for Supporting the Safety Evaluation of Nanomaterials’.
Advanced materials bring new challenges for safety and sustainability assessment. To address these, the EU Horizon Europe projects iCare, MACRAMÉ, and nanoPASS are hosting a Joint Summit to address the needs of industry and regulators in assessing the safety and sustainability of advanced materials. …
At BASF, we create chemistry for a sustainable future by combining economic success with environmental protection and social responsibility. With around 112,000 employees contributing to the group’s success globally, we are one of the world’s largest chemical companies, present in …
MACRAMÉ Partner EMPA published a paper with the title ‘Bridging the gap: Innovative human-based in vitro approaches for nanomaterials hazard assessment and their role in safe and sustainable by design, risk assessment, and life cycle assessment’. The application of nanomaterials in industry and consumer products is growing exponentially, which has pressed the development and use of predictive human in vitro models in pre-clinical analysis to closely extrapolate potential toxic effects in vivo.
In its Report on Stakeholder Involvement & Knowledge Transfer in the first 18 Months, the MACRAMÉ Project provides an overview of the stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer on harmonisation and standardisation (H&S) activities for advanced materials undertaken in the first 18 months. The Project organised and conducted a number of Read more
